Abraham Lincoln

- Character is like a tree and reputation its shadow. The shadow is what we think it is; the tree is the real thing.

- Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

- You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

- And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

- I don't like that man. I must get to know him better.

- The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.

- When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion.
